  • Welcome to Fern Gully Hideaway
    Located in Strahan, Tasmania we are suitable for families or couples.With plenty of room to laze around in the house or why not have a game of fooz ball, table tennis, darts, ice hockey or pool in the shed? Fern Gully Hideaway is just the best place for fantastic family fun or taking time out to relax and unwind. Pets are most welcome (by appointment only) and we have a secure fenced back yard and offroad parking next to a sunny front lawn.

  • Bedrooms

    The 4 bedrooms can accommodate up to 6 people.

    2 of the bedrooms have queen sized beds and the other 2 have king sized singles. All have good quality mattresses and linen for a comfortable nights sleep.

  • Kitchen

    The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, dish washer, fridge/freezer, slow cooker, healthy grill, toaster, kettle, microwave, wok, juicer and much more...

    Everything you need to make quick and delicious meals, so you only need to eat out when it suits you and your family.

  • Dining Table

    The dining table seats 8. Positioned between the lounge, kitchen and sunroom it is also a great place to work on the laptop or play a hand or two of cards.

  • Bathroom

    Relax and enjoy...

    A spacious bathroom, with a corner shower, spa bath and full length mirror. Warm and toasty in winter, bright and breezy in summer - the perfect way to start or end the day.
     

  • Macquarie Harbour

    Australia's 2nd largest coastal waterway served as a penal colony from 1822 to1833, and then as a port for the shipment of minerals and timber.  Today sightseeing cruises, along with yachts, kayaks and other pleasure craft, ply it's gleaming tannin-stained waters.

  • Holiday House

    Fern Gully Hideaway is a secluded and comfortable 4 bedroom family holiday house only a 5 minute walk to Strahan's Harbour and Esplanade.

    Once an important port exporting gold, silver and other metals, Strahan is now a peaceful holiday and fishing village, the only coastal town of any size along the West Coast of Tasmania.

  • Ocean Beach

    The surrounding coastline, which includes the 33 km Ocean Beach to the north, provides a scenic setting for walkers and anglers, with wonderful sunsets from its west-facing vantage point.

  • Sunroom

    The sunroom is a a good place to do absolutely nothing.  Fern Gully Hideaway is a holiday house that suits everyone in the family - young and old and those in-between.  There's something here for everyone.
